March PPM

March book came out yesterday and not a ton of surprises.

Big winners overall include:
KQMV - #1 6+ for the first time ever
KISW - best book since November
KCMS - continuing their hot streak
KMPS/KKWF – great country book especially 18-34

Big losers include:
KZOK – down 23% for A25-54 from Feb to March
KJAQ – down 18% for A25-54 from Feb to March. Down 44% year to year.
KIRO FM – Mornings are now where they were with Curley. Time to can Dave Ross now? Middays are awful, Dori is the big winner for the station and R&D are down 39% year to year.

Morning Drive Winners: KKWF – big M18-34 #’s which drove their P18-34. KPLZ remains on top for Women demos with KQMV right behind. Top A25-54 are KPLZ, KUOW, KISW, KKWF, KQMV.

Midday Winners: Not a lot of surprises. KISW bounces back A25-54 and KCMS continues to have a good showing. Top A25-54 are KISW, KPLZ, KRWM, KQMV, KCMS.

PM Drive Winners: KISW dominates men, KQMV has the women. Good PM drive #’s for KMPS with the younger end women and for KKWF with younger end men. Top A25-54 are KISW, KKWF, KQMV, KCMS, KMPS.

Nights: Top A25-54 are KQMV, KBKS, KCMS, KISW, KKWF.

Weekend Prime: Top A25-54 are KISW, KKWF, KQMV, KMPS, KZOK

News/Talk stations: KUOW still on top in most demos (even non-traditional “talk demos”). Mornings A35-64, KUOW and KOMO at 1 & 2. KIRO FM at 12. M35-64 in AM drive, KUOW #1, KPLU #5, KTTH #6, KOMO #7, KIRO-FM #10.

Middays for News/Talk, KTTH had another good book in at #1 for A35-64 and M35-64. KIRO FM at #12 and 7 for same demos.

Afternoons for News/Talk, KOMO at #3 A35-64, KIRO at #9.

Sports: Not a ton of change. KJR and KIRO-AM still close in most demos, however KIRO-AM is starting to get the Mariners kiss in afternoons/evenings (only spring training games in this book).

Usual suspects in the usual places. 6a-7p it was all about KISW, KPLZ and KKWF. Country music got a nice bump overall this book. Mornings dominated as usual on the female side by KPLZ, adults by KPLZ and KUOW and men KISW.

It is surprising what has happened to KIRO-FM. Just one year ago they were in second. KQMV is killing both KBKS and KUBE in the battle of the CHR's.

Other than that, no real change again.
