March PPMs [What Arb lets non subs still see]

http://www.radio-info.com/markets/columbus

WCOL is king... WODC is still doing really dang well (best that freq has ever done in Columbus outside of Christmas)

103.9 and 107.1 still need to change formats.

and a bunch of stations we'll never know now (Jack FM, SNY, Rewind, Mix, WRKZ and a few others who don't sub to the book) -- (btw you'll notice for instance WCKX subs to the book but WJKR doesn't so we see WCKX's ratings but not WJKR's).

I don't think I've ever seen WTVN have that low a rating. I was expecting a drop off in ratings after BC retired from the station. Now I see WTVN has been as low as an 7.6 over the last few years.

Also, WVKO-AM doesn't subscribe to the book?

Don't you think it's an error on Arbitron's part omitting WJKR (Jack-FM) and WRKZ (the Blitz) from the public list? I find it hard to believe that the prime properties in Radio One's and North American's clusters don't subscribe, while their smaller stations do.

I see a 6.8 in July. That's as far back as I've looked.

My understanding is that it's quite possible for some stations within a cluster to subscribe but others not. My guess is those have decided to not to buy the book but other stations in their clusters who may need the proof to try and get advertisers buy the book.

However it's also possible the #s got left out .. I do see WRKZ shows up on the list at AllAccess but Jack does not.

The specific cases I've heard of where some stations in a given cluster are shown but others aren't have all involved an acquisition.  E.g. no-Arbitron-contract Cumulus acquiring a Citadel station along with its contract.  I suppose it's possible that Radio One subscribes only for Power and Magic but not Jack...but that doesn't seem to pass the smell test.

Interesting that RKZ does show up in at least one other list.  And man, are they tanking... Right now at 2.8 they're essentially in a 4-way tie with 105.7, 106.7 and 102.5.  Up until a year ago the Blitz was reliably in the 5's and 6's.  Will be interesting to see if their new morning show helps.  (I'm skeptical on that count, but they might go up some just because it would be hard to go any lower with that signal.)  And the other big-signal Rock station, Q-FM-96, also seems to be stuck at a possibly historic low for them (3.9).  This is when it would be especially interesting to see Jack's results (which probably should be available) and The Fan's (which are correctly omitted), to see if there's any evidence they may be hurting the big rockers.
