March Ratings

Outside of Boston, I'm trying to think of one market that actually has more than one Alternative station. LA and San Diego are the only one's I can think of.

I said it before and I'll say it again: **** alternative, it's time to go full out active. Think of lehigh valleys "Bone" and think harrisburgs "X", thats exactly what we need here, only 1 or 2 classics per hour, the rest all modern with some 90's thrown in there, the only alt station that was listenable in this area is now gone.

Radio-Info has updated the ratings page now that the April numbers are out. It also seems to have corrected the March ratings. It now shows WPEN at a 1.1 for March, not a 0.0. It has the same 1.1 share for April.

Techically DC has ZERO Alternative stations- DC101 is pretty much DC's version of MMR-Everything that rocks- WRNR/Annapolis is "All about the music" but basically all about AAA,Baltimore has CC's Channel1043 which is Bmores Radio1045 with some Metallica tossed in. The only listenable Alt/Indie station in Philly is on HD or internet. Most stations mix true alternative,grunge,classic rock and pop rock and claim a format that means nothing anymore. Active rock has become 32 flavors of southern fried rock and a few AC/DC clones. A Free Form format would cover all bases with the DJs focusing on thier particular tastes and developing a following instead of a suit who doesn't know Jimi Hendrix from Jimmie's Chicken Shack calling the musical shots. It worked before...MMR started out that way and is still around....WHFS was great before it got choked with a tie....
