March Ratings

KYW back to earth after the snow is over.

Q-102 (up 0.7 to a 4.8) surges ahead of Wired (up 0.1 to a 3.9).

WRNB quietly knocking on the door of the top 10. Up 0.3 to a 3.7, good for 11th place.

Stations with unfocused formats and trainwreck segues continue to suffer TSL problems (WBEN, WISX, WYSP), though WYSP was up slightly.

Unless the demos tell a different story, the WPEN-FM experiment seems to be failing miserably. Was the Now 97.5 Hot AC format ever down to a 1.3? Total AQH share for the AM/FM combination is 1.8.

The biggest shock of the entire PPM's, considering it's the NFL (Eagles) offseason. Could Bonaduce be that good?

Wired beat Q102 Persons 18-34 - where it counts and was #1 in the market

Interesting. So, either Q102 has more listeners listening longer 6-18, or more listeners listening longer 35+, or both.

Gentle Readers,

Slow down...other than the expected KYW adjustment, it's too small a sample over too short a time. Don't read too much into it...yet.

As usual all the Rockers are doing great and gaining ground....Philly is the "Offical Rock City"...

By the looks of things 97.5 will have to go back to some kind of music.maybe all 90's or oldies. The sports is NOT doing anything for them..

For 97.5, the trend has been consistently down since the flip during the MLB Playoffs.

Although I know you're being sarcastic about The 'duce, I still must chime in: it's because everyone else is just that bad. Enough said. :)

If you give people a boat load of crap to choose from one of them has to succeed. It doesn't mean that the one that succeeds is good, all it means is that it sucked the least. It's sort of like having ten boxers, all with more loses that wins. When they meet in the ring one of them has to succeed.

The problem is the stations are going for female demo money. Who's winning 18-34 female?
