March Ratings

Meanwhile WCBS and WTOP may have one paid program on Saturday and another on Sunday, while on KOMO a large portion of those two days is devoted to paid programming.

Once again, because they have to pay for the weekday programming. They're not doing it to annoy you. They're doing it to pay the bills.

New York and DC are much bigger cities. Give some examples that are closer in size to Seattle.

Is WJR all news or news/talk? That would be the only example I can think of in a similar sized market. I'd also be curious about the weekend schedule at I believe it's Davis that runs an all news station in Norfolk or something like that. That's a much smaller market than Seattle.

WJR is a talk station. There is another AM, WWJ 950, which is indeed all news and highly rated.

790 WNIS in Tidewater is news/talk. Morning news, talker the rest of the day.

WWJ runs some infomercials on the weekends. But they're consistently top rated.

If KOMO retains its 5 share, perhaps they can cut back. It depends on the amount of money they're able to make during the week. It's really hard to let go of something that brings in money without any expense.
