Marconi Awards

I'm not sure if it's The Big Show or if it's Ordway, the personality, but one of them was nominated for a Marconi. Sheppard, as usual, was not too clear. Who does the nominating and what do they go by? Is it ratings or totally subjective like the Oscars?

It's Ordway, Ryan Seacrest and three others, I think, slugging it out for Major Market Personality of the Year. Glenn has been a bridesmaid in this category in the past, maybe this will be his year, like that other soap star, Susan Lucci. I think she might be taller.

I'm with Ombudsman. I wouldn't mind getting one but a Marconi is the most over-hyped and unsubstantial "award" out there. It sound prestigious but it's just an excuse for broadcasters to clap each other on the back and drink the night away.

That makes a little more sense. I'd like to think that a show that regularly features Larry Johnson and Fred Smerlas wouldn't be up for a national award.
