Margaret Brennan to host Face the Nation on CBS

"lose even more ground"???

Face The Nation was the #1 Sunday Talk show in 2015, 2016, and effectively tied with Meet the Press in 2017 (MTP won by about 1%).

I do think Brennan is a surprising pick, traditionally this job is given to 20+ year veterans of Washington. For that reason, I would expect she'll get plowed over by the Dick Durbin, Lindsey Graham, and a variety of other Swamp inhabitants.

Major Garrett was the obvious first choice, but he appears to be on a different track...thanks in part to his podcast.

My point PT, was, as you noted, that the show ceded it's top position last year, and I don't see Brennan's selection as helping them gain the top spot. I predict a flow from FTN to MTP and FNS and possibly some to TW with little coming to FTN.

I've no idea why you took such exception to my characterization when your own analysis confirmed that the show had lost some ground already.
