Maria Shriver Returning to NBC News

How long before NBC is completely staff by politicians' relatives.

Now, we have a Kennedy, a Clinton and a Bush. All displaying a complete lack of talent.
Plus Matt waiting for the ax to fall and Jay planning his next return to the Tonight Show.
And not a single show in prime time performing well.
No wonder GE unloaded.

Shriver was in Rome to cover the Papal conclave in March... not sure why they're only announcing this now.

She was going to be there as a private citizen. NBC found out and asked her to be part of the coverage. Viewer response was so positive, they offered her a daily slot on "Today", but there's not enough money to make it worth her while to get up at 2:30 every morning and move her kids to New York from L.A. Looks like they finally came up with a deal that interests her.

Viewer response positive? Based on what? NBC shows themselves completely tone-deaf to viewer responses.

Viewer response positive to promoting Ann Curry. Firing Ann Curry. Retaining Matt. Dumping Jay (more than a year from now). Hiring the Bush brat. Hiring Chelsea. NBC has been acting clueless about audience response since at least 1947. Too bad Alec Baldwin doesn't run things there for real.
