Marie Fredriksson Dies After A 17-Year Battle With Brain Cancer

Another fantastic 1980s singer gone. I loved her music. It Must Have Been Love was/is a soft rock staple, while The Look was/is often heard on adult hits stations. Her songs continue to thrive 30 years later. Damn. May she forever RIP.
 
It Must Have Been Love is one of the most beautifully engineered records of all-time IMHO.
I love to listen to it on headphones and note all of the nice little touches and things they are doing on there.

This lady put up a very brave battle. RIP.
 
I've always enjoyed their music. The big ones like "The Look" and "It Must Have Been Love" plus others like "Listen To Your Heart", "Dressed For Success", "Dangerous" and "Joyride."
 
It turns out that the song was originally a Christmas/holiday song they recorded in Sweden a couple of years earlier. They had no time to record a new song for the "Pretty Woman" soundtrack. They took this song, redid a bit of the music track and removed a lone one-line holiday reference. The result? Billboard's #2 song of 1990. :eek:
