Marino Returns to Morning Drive

Rick Marino's back on morning drive again in Nashville, this time on the Wolf where he'd been handling middays. Marino, of course, held down mornings for years at Mix, then tried out country mornings at KDF after being let go from JXA. He's replacing Charley Connolly. Russell P moves up from APD to take Connolly's PD role. Smokey Rivers will voicetrack middays from Dallas.

Good, now maybe they'll go back to the REAL WSM-FM ~ 'SM 95! I can already hear the Roxy Music,
John Stewart and Boz Scaggs.

Not to mention Christopher Cross, Al Stewart, and Sailcat...

That was one fine station.

Nock

Mid-days are now automated on the Wolf. I think it's sad that another day-part is now voice tracked in Nashville. Is this a permanant situation or temporary until they find a replacement?

Don't forget the Gene Cotton marathon weekends.

Wonder how Cotton's songs would play today? Especially in Williamson County, after being the frontman for the group that held up 840 progress for years. Word is that he's not a favorite down there.

I noticed this morning that former Fox 17 and WSMV meteorologist Tim Ross (Mr. Tim) was handling the news and weather reports this morning on WSM-FM. Does he work for WSM or for Metro News and Traffic? Is he on any other stations in town?

Also, SM-95 must have been before I moved to Nashville in 1986. WSM-Fm has had a country format for as long I can remember, whether it known as WSM-FM, Nashville 95, the Wolf, etc. When did the Soft A/C format exist?

I have seen him in TV commercials for law firms and such, but that is about it. I figured that he has a successful voiceover career now. If so, more power to him. He seems like a nice guy.

i remember those days..yes it sounded very good at the time..and if i'm not mistaken..Kris, with a "K" Bradley did "kris with jazz at some point during that time frame..kris now owns the largest flooring store in southen indiana..just across the river from louisville..

Man, I never thought mentioning 'SM 95 would create this kind of traffic. More has been said
about the old format from long ago than the country format has ever gotten on here. And they
claim the people forget?

Yeah, KQB, KDF and SM 95! Forgotten only by those in the decision making chairs of America.

Will Crumulus or Citadull be the first to come up with a way to not be the third wheel of failure
by growing a pair of real rating numbers and returning heritage to the dial? Nah! Nock knows jazz.
He has floors in his house, too. See...
