I think Marissa Wingate is no longer with KTVK. She used to anchor the Saturday 5 and 9 pm Newscasts on Channel 3. For the past several Saturdays (too many to count now) there have been a rotation of anchors working the Saturday shift. I even saw Patti Kirkpatrick anchoring the Saturday newscast, was a little shocked, must be a team player. While I don't watch Channel 3 regularly I have caught bits and pieces here and there and here is the reason I don't care for Patti Kirkpatrick. She seems to interject her opinion on every bleeping story. Whatever happened to the oath of journalism integrity. Apparently news anchors can have a liberal slant and we are all supposed to accept it. No thank you. I didn't vote for socialism.

Where is that Scott guy who used to work at 3TV and was apparently fired for being a disgruntled employee or something like that, I got my info here, and has all the dish on Phoenix Examiner Media. Come on Scott buddy your slacking, let us know if she has been fired.

Charlie.

P.S. Who has the dish on who is joining or replacing Patti for the job opening.

Also, tvjobs.com had Marissa as being "on the beach" within the last couple of weeks. Frank anchored last night and did an excellent job covering the wildfires. I would like to see Frank anchoring again on Saturdays. It's great to see someone who has some gray hair anchoring the news. Somehow, it makes me feel better...

Newsflash...the only reason Frank doesn't anchor on weekends is because he doesn't want to anchor on weekends...

which, of course, is totally his choice. But Frank is a heck of a lot better than Marissa's high-pitched voice and Carey's lisp (which is noticeably better than it once was, but is still distracting). If a younger person has to anchor, I'd rather see Carrina Sonn. She also does a good job at the desk.

According to her Twitter account, she is no longer in Phoenix. Another message to me, she says "all is well".

I remember that just before this happened, she had gotten engaged. I wonder if there is a connection.

I liked her on the air, so I'm sorry she's not around.

Marissa Wingate Replacement

So, MusicFan2009, I may have solved the mystery of who is going to replace Marissa Wingate. I noticed a new reporter this weekend covering the Wallow fire. His name is Steve Ryan. Through the magic of the Internet, I did some digging and found the following on tvtalent.com:

Stephen Ryan has joined the news team with KTVK in Phoenix. He anchors the Saturday evening news and covers the police beat as a reporter.

Apparently, once he's done covering the Wallow fire, Steve Ryan will be the new Saturday evening anchor.

I liked Wingate and wish her good luck.

Everytime I saw Wingate, I think she looks like CBS News Lara Logan

Steve is anchoring the Saturday GEAZ tonight (06/11).
