Mark Edwards Makes It To Manhattan (Sort Of)

Former music director of WCRB when it was owned by Nassau, will soon be heard in Manhattan...Kansas, that is. He will assume the post of music director of Kansas Public Radio, based at the University of Kansas, on February 1st. Coincidence: on of their translators, K258BT, in Manhattan, operates on 99.5.

He gave me a foot back in the door a few years back after I was out of the biz for 7 or 8 years. A very nice guy. One of the few 'programmers' for Nassau who actually had a vision for the cluster that was not cookie cutter radio. Unfortunately, that's exactly what it became IMHO.

Mark is a GREAT guy! 5 years ago I walked into his office a nervous wreck, in a full suit and tie to interview for a board op job. I shook his hand and left thinking I would never see him again because he told me he got numerous applicants to the position and I figured I didn't have a shot. Long story short, I spent almost 3 years great years there.
