Mark Farner

Mighty Frenchman,

Send me an email to the address in my profile. I believe I can help you.

I'm still trying to learn how to get a copy of Mark Farner's CD with his rewritten version of "Some Kind of Wonderful". None of the local Christian bookstores carry something that old and I can't remember which label released the CD. Anybody in programming remember which record company released that particular Mark Farner CD? Thanks.

The label was Frontline.

Label was Frontline. Year was 1991. CD was titled "Some Kind of Wonderful." The song was also on 1992's "Closer to Home." Neither disc appears to be available on iTunes or Amazon, and Farner's website only sells old GFR. Your best hope to find it is on eBay. Search Mark Farner. I think you'll be happy with the results.

The only Farner disc I have is "Just Another Injustice" from 1989. I played "Isn't It Amazing" on The Single Road, and "Airborne Ranger" on SOAR. Pardon the Love 98 flashback. Don't you miss the old days with real music guys selling CCM in Indy, like Milton Goodwin at Promised Land or Peter McMonigle and Tony Silva at Light and Life?

Yep, I miss those days, too. "Isn't It Amazing" is another great song by Mark Farner. GFR was one of my favorite groups before I became a Christian. I used to have the Closer To Home album but lost it a long time ago.

Here's a question about another CCM artist who's now with Jesus, Denny Correll. Do you know if any of his albums have been released on CD? Thanks.

Just did a really quick search. Looks like 1991's "Trust" on Maranatha is available to download at iTunes.
