and does anyone know why he's doing this other than the cross promotion thing ala Don G. They must be paying him a stack o' cash for the almost 24 hour commitment.

Mark who? And CBS Radio where? Sacramento? New York? Los Angeles?

You obviously do not work in the radio industry. Companies do not pay out big salaries anymore unless you're a Seacrest, and Sacramento radio certainly doesn't pay out that much. Hell, major market stations are cheapskates now. Whoever "Mark' is, he ain't bringin' down the dollars in Sacramento.

I assume she's referring to Mark S Allen -- He'll be doing afternoons on Now 100.5 starting next week.

Ah, of course. I was going to also mention that Rick is going back to Entercom.

Yeah. Mark S. Allen formerly of KSFM-102.5 & KXOA-107.9 as well as a brief stint as host of Comedy Central's Short Attention Span Theatre.

And Western Career College... "You Can Do It!!" (spokesperson on the TV ads) Also I believe he was on Channel 31 Morning News.

To my knowlege, he is also still with Channel 31. The morning show is called "Good Day Sacramento"

Funny you should mention that, since KMAX/KOVR are owned by.... (wait for it...) CBS.

And that's getting back to what she said in her original message...CBS cross-promotion, like Don Geronimo's regular appearances on "GDS" (oddly enough).

Trivia question: What do Mark S. Allen and Lisa Ling have in common?

Trivia question: What do Mark S. Allen and Lisa Ling have in common?

Answer: KXTV.

Don't scratch your head too much about the connection. It was where they both got their first long-term stints on TV. 1991 to 94 on the teen-focused show... Scratch.

CBS is going to do a lot more of this, by the way.

They're going to start local programming subchannels on their big market TV stations, and have already said that they will leverage existing CBS Radio content. Does that mean we see a TV simulcast of Don Geronimo's radio show on KOVR 13.x? (2? 3?)?

Of course, I have no idea if they plan this sort of channel in Sacramento, but they certainly have the assets to do so. And Mark S. Allen's radio gig could be on the list as well.

Don Geronimo doesn't do "regular appearances" on GDS. It's his job. He's a permanent part of the show, every day.
