Mark Jurkowitz to RKO???

F

fccfight

Guest
Mark Jurkowitz used to be on WRKO. He's articulate, intelligent, and knows how to put a great afternoon drive talk show together.

With Howie Carr sounding like he's facing the onset of alheimerz (maybe they'll
let him broadcast from Abu Gharib or Guantanamo) this could be the new RKO lineup under Whittemore and Kahn:

Mornings: Steve Mindich & Harvey Silverglate 5 AM - 9 AM

Dan Kennedy: 9 AM - Noon

Harry Manion Noon - 3 PM

Mark Jurkowitz 3 PM - 7 PM

The Nancy Shack Show - 7 PM - 10 PM

Howie Carr from Guantanamo 10 PM - Midnight

The Track Gals will read from Howie's previous columns on Whitey when he's "had a few bad ice cubas" down there in Guantanamo, while VB will do to H.C. what
Carr did to Jerry Williams.

Oh yeah, Neggy, FNX will go Spanish with the Phoenix taking over RKO

Phoenix to go daily, Herald to become the local weekly paper.

Weekends With Clea: Clea Simon every Friday and Saturday.
She and hubby Jon Garelick (from the Phoenix, of course) will do
on-air biographies of late radio personalities - Bud Ballou, John Masters,
Vinnie Peruzzi ...as well as shows that won't be remembered - John Depetro, Jeff Katz, Two Chicks Dishing...

do stay tuned

Jurkowitz cannot handle the day to day grind of being a talk show host.
He is ok in small doses and that's it. He's ok in a panel like "Beat The Press" but if I were the new GM of WRKO I would never bring him in. He is a second stringer at best on talk, Remember, he started as a Jon Keller fill in when Keller did talk. Now, Jon Keller would be very good if he went back to talk.

Steve Mindich suffers from short man's syndrome. He is a vulgar individual who belongs on the adult pages of his callgirl publication. As someone once said of Mindich,' he is a man a few words; all four letters.'

Re: Mark Jurkowitz to RKO??? (Ann Coulter to Air America!)

Hmm, is this the same person I've been getting emails from that are to
Whittemore (with Cc:s to me)? Some good suggestions but one of them said WRKO is a total bore right now. Yes, and the Red Sox are boring too, so boring that they're in first place. And 'RKO is only getting 4.2s and 3.9s in the ratings. We want libtalk
so they can be 0.4 just like WXKS!

And he knows that the Air America stations are daytime only! What...
they're not? Oh... funny, that article he wrote said that...

> Mornings: Steve Mindich & Harvey Silverglate 5 AM - 9 AM

Mr. Mindich already owns a radio station on the FM dial. He can
co-host with wife Maria "YOU SIT DOWN RIGHT NOW!!" Lopez.

> Dan Kennedy: 9 AM - Noon

I don't agree with DK politically but kudos to him for putting together
webpages for Little People of America. (is that the reason LPA's national
convention met in Danvers a couple years back? :) )

How about:

>> Mitt Romney: 9 AM-Noon
Let Kerry run the state. She lives just down the street from me here in
Beverly. You know I'm a South Park Conservative but I can honestly say
that in 2002 I _did_ vote for Kerry! No, not John Kerry...Kerry Murphy-Healey! :)

> Harry Manion Noon - 3 PM

Oh I'm sure ratings will be higher than Rush. This is satire, right?
Two can play at that game: ANN COULTER should be on Air America! :)

> Mark Jurkowitz 3 PM - 7 PM

But I'll miss the chump line.

> The Nancy Shack Show - 7 PM - 10 PM

Tsk tsk, don't call her that...she's "Sandy"...just like we're not supposed
to refer to VB as "Douglas Goudie" :)

> Howie Carr from Guantanamo 10 PM - Midnight

Yup, this is satire! Well at least I'd like it better than whomever they have on now.

Maybe Mindich can buy his own radio station (to be on). Oh wait...he did...

Mindich is still a foul mouthed and ugly short man.

So much for no personal attacks from Parklane. Stephen Mindich is a pioneer and has done a remarkable job of giving this city an alternative to
The Boston Glob and the Geriatric Boston Gerald. Would you rather spend your time with the Weekly Dig? C'mon!

Fact is, he built a newspaper and radio empire pretty much from scratch. Give credit where it is due. Keep in mind, Parklane, I agree with most of what you say,but your bitterness is really hurting your cause.

Me, I don't waste time burning bridges, I just blow 'em up.
