Mark Larsen on 970

This morning on AM Tampa Bay it was mentioned that Mark will be filling in for Schnitt today (I didn't catch if tomorrow, too).

And the topic lady would have been screening the calls. To bad, I would have enjoyed all of Larsens cranks calling in.... Maybe next time

No disrespect here...but ...if he were as consistently good as you say...I mean, consistently top market good....then he'd have a steady gig somewhere.

Let it go, ok? Everyone has their run, and then we all move on.

And BTW when he posts his "podcasts" links on this board, shouldn't that now go under the heading of "Internet Radio" instead of Tampa / St. Petersburg radio?

I think you're making some misguided assumptions. As far as I know, Mark still has an active advertising/marketing/talent/production business in town, which probably helps explain why he's still here. When he left WFLA about a decade ago, he said it was partly to concentrate on that business. But, like so many other radio people, he never lost the broadcasting bug, so he tried something at WWBA. It wasn't perfect, so he left to do something that interests him more: "radio" on his own terms through podcasting, which many big-name personalities are doing these days, by the way. Some are even making money doing it.

Besides, the "steady gigs" are drying up pretty quickly ... especially if you want to stay in this market.

I don't know Mark (although I've met him once or twice) and I didn't listen to his show on WWBA, and was only an occasional listener to his show on WFLA, but I think your premise is flawed, all things considered.
