Mark Levin Returns to WNTP Lineup

Levin, syndicated by Citadel Media Networks, returns to the 9PM to midnight slot weeknights on 990, replacing Ray Lucia's finance program. This returns WNTP to 23 hours a day of conservative talk on weekdays, with the Wall Street Journal Report news block from 5 to 6AM.

Levin had held down the 9 to 11PM slot on NTP a few years ago, but was bumped by other syndicated talk programming in what is believed to be a pay-to-play schedule of non-Salem programming from 9PM to 5AM weekdays. At the time the Levin program was canceled, there were reports that Levin, who grew up in Cheltenham, rejected a later slot for the program.

Philadelphia is something of a talk radio backwater. Despite being a Top-10 market, some popular syndicated talk programming is either unavailable on the local airwaves, relegated to overnight hours or available only on limited regional signals such as daytimer WFYL King of Prussia or WILM Wilmington.

The Levin program feeds live weeknights from 6 to 9PM Eastern.

Thank goodness; now I can still get a fix of unhinged, paranoid, angry old white guy ranting when those blasted hippie baseball players are on the "other" station. :) :) :)

Yeah, Levin's a big dog lover. He had to take several days off when his oldest dog Pepsi recently passed away. A humanist, a concise thinker and a bit of a humorist as well. Not that Gomer Jay Pile would listen long enough to notice...

So it's a good evening of programming on 990, with Hugh Hewitt's interview and call-in show from 6 to 9 and Levin the cultural warrior from 9 to midnight, while 1210 has whatever their current fractured schedule provides. Maybe CBS'll offload the Phillies to a new WIP signal if the rumors come to fruition and 1210 can concentrate on its format at least 23-5.
