Mark "Munch" Bishop lends his voice.

Mr. Bishop has recorded a top-of-the hour Legal ID for WCCR AM 1260", Cleveland Catholic Radio. I heard it at 5pm on Monday 03/13/2023 as WCCR went back for the second hour of "Kresta In The Afternoon".
How could you understand it? In all honesty, I find it somewhat difficult to make out what he says......sometimes.

I am surprised they let him record something for their station. His "beliefs" don't exactly line up with the station he is promoting.

I don't want this to go political I am just saying if you know Munch he has a lot of views on the left side of the political aisle that are at odds with his religion. That is all I am saying. Devout or not that is what surprised me. Then again they may not know that but he is very left in his views (which is his right to be).

Hey, he could dress up like the Pope and walk around his house blessing everything or he could be pals with Beelzebub & go out drinking with him [well, he did work with Lanigan so maybe he's already done the Beelzebub thing.....just kidding!] and I wouldn't care either way.

Absolutely. 100%

People can change.

You mean his religious beliefs? I don't know what they are, but I'm sure WCCR had plenty of non-Catholic "friends of the station". That's the beauty of radio..... it's for everyone.

He's a Cleveland radio institution. Besides Munch may be a friend of WCCR despite different political opinions. I'm sure there's many people who enjoy that station who may not be in 100 percent lockstep with the editorial policy.

What does doing a top-of-the-hour I.D. for a radio station have to do with anything? You can tell me that a Jewish voice person has never one a top-of-the-hour read for a Christian station or maybe a spot read for Bob Evans pork sausage!
Nothing at all. I was just saying their politics don't mesh. Munch vs the station but to each their own they both have the right to their beliefs.

Then why bring it up in the first place?

Why not just ask why a local TV station hires a newscaster who watches television on the other local channels??? Using these types of mentalities on this thread, would be just like promoting discrimination...

Perhaps we need a deep background check on everyone, before they step into a booth and recite four letters and a city name into a tin can.

Could that person be, or asked to be, doing so as a way for the station he/she works as to keep an eye on the competition?
