Mark and his ex-wife/business partner Natalie Knox used to own WKSQ, WLKE and WBFB. They sold to Clear Channel and started Knox & Osborne Ad Agency.

Perhaps they can bring Oldies back down-east, since WWMJ 95.7 went to I-95 Classic hits back in Jan. WGUY Oldies 102.1 Dexter/Bangor doesn't get very far down east past Ellsworth.

BTW There is still a Construction permit for 93.7 in Milbridge.

FYI. It is Stony CREEK Broadcasting, not Stony BROOK. And as for WNSX going with an OLDIES format??? Are you SERIOUS???

Re: Mark Osborne buying WNSX---WRMO??

According to the FCC website the construction permit expires on 7/17/05.The current assigned call letters are WRMO.WRMO's primary coverage area reaches Bar Harbor. If the price was right it would make sense to pair it up with WNSX.It will be interesting to see what happens with both of those signals.Neither one reaches much of a population.

I would expect this station will no longer be Classic Rock. Between the Fox,I95, and WKIT, there isn't the need for a fourth station that plays classic rock oriented music. Here's what I would expect:

1.A "local" station for Downeast Maine. Devoted to covering the region. When Mark owned Kiss, he had excellent news coverage, was very community minded, and promtionally active. I would expect the same this time around. Finally, advertisers in Ellsworth, MDI, and downeast will have a "local" station to buy time on. And having run an agency in Ellsworth, he has plenty of connections already with the local business owners.

2. I would expect Mark to be back on the air doing the morning show like he did for many years on Kiss. From a budgetary standpoint, I don't think he really has a choice. He certainly won't be bringing some syndicated fare at least in AM drive.

3. Musically....either Country to take on Lucky 99 which is one of the poor stepchilds in the Clear Channel cluster, or a Hot A/C..brighter than Kiss and 92.9. This station shouldn't be concerned with Bangor ratings. There's no way I see this station playing oldies. Again, the focus is on Downeast.

Maybe ABC Hot AC after the morning show? It's safe, fun, and has tonnes of way to localize it.

An A/C station having fun. That would be a concept for this market.
