Mark Sebastian AirCheck Q102 1977

He also added airchecks of WLW and WKRC from around the time of the Q aircheck (November 1977). The audio of the WLW aircheck appears to be wide band. I'll listen to the KRC aircheck to see if the quality is the same.

I'm listening to the KRC aircheck. It too is wideband but the music on KRC is processed heavily while the mic and other elements were not.

Yes WKRC had reverb on the Mic but not until the 80's when they went AM stereo I beleive. I wish there were air checks of WEBN and WMOH FM from that year.

Spybot says the files are clean. I used both v 1.62 and 2.0 beta so its a clean site. They are .ram .rm files so you need Real Player or Real Player alternative installed in order to play the files.

Here are some airchecks of Sabo and other jocks from that era. It is on my Google drive.... no adaware here. Click on the download button in the middle of the screen, then click download anyway (the file is too large to scan).

Thanks for the Sabo leaving Aircheck. Brought back memories for sure. I was trying to remember what station hired him in NYC. I thought it was WPLJ? Didn't Sebastian return to Q102 a few years later before leaving again for Florida? I know He wasn't on The Q long, during his return to Cincinnati.

He went to WHTZ Z-100. I was listening that night when I was delivering pizzas for LaRosa's in Mt Carmel. He played a jingle for their station. I hated to see him go. He returned in 1988 but he was more toned down than he had been. His first run was the best. Those were the days! I miss local radio like it used to be.

Oh thanks...I loved those days too. Everything was much more loose on the air and wasn't so restricted like today's radio. It was fun radio that connected with the listening audience at the time.
