Mark Shields, longtime syndicated columnist and PBS commentator, died of renal failure this morning at his home in Chevy Chase, Maryland. He was 85.

Yes I remember Mark Shields for his segments on PBS News hour every Friday where he and Brooks have to analyze the week in review.


Here is PBS Newshour saying goodbye to Make Shields but originally because he was retiring when the segment took place.

Before David Brooks joined the program, Mr. Shields had been paired with David Gergen and Paul Gigot, respectively.
