Mark Simone

Anyone else think Regis Philbin and Stuart Barney are good guests?? Sorry but Simone sucks and I fear that even the kiss ups Will tire of his superior attitude . I've met him a couple of times and he US VERY full of himself! Good luck WOR...you'll need it! Obe of several great CC hires at 710....

Liked Mark when he filled in for Imus and Hannity. Also the Saturday night show. But could not even complete listening to his first weekday on WOR. Insulting callers who loved him, the phones were not even connected correctly. Between WOR not even caring enough to have the equipment fully functional to him dissing his fans, an hour was enough of him for my tastes. No wonder he could no longer get a full time gig.

I heard Mitch Lebe is doing the news updates for WOR during Simone's new show there. He worked in the same capacity at WABC previously.

TV's "Love Boat" and "Murder She Wrote" hired faded stars as a courtesy. Mark does the same by often interviewing Regis Philbin, Pat Cooper, and Danny Aiello.

Mitch Lebe is superb! He's one of the few classy news broadcasters left in NYC.

Although I believe he's working for CC's Total Traffic (so moving to WOR this morning was merely a matter of pushing a different button) it's wonderful to hear his smooth, confident, authoritative yet friendly voice on any NY station.

Roger Skibenes, Bruce Anderson, Dave Spencer, George Weber, Cameron Swayze, Wes Richards, Andy Fisher and others are no longer heard in the NY ether, but Mitch Lebe still is ... and that's very good thing!

I'd put Joe Bartlett in the same category as the above, and Mitch would have been a great fill-in for him on the Gambling show this past week, but apparently CC blew that opportunity.

Mitch is one of those voices frequenly heard on WABC that never worked for WABC. Debbie Duhame, Heather O'Rourke, Scott Solotto, etc were all on via CC Total Traffic so it's not like they left anywhere. Cumulus and CC parted ways as Cumulus impliments their own traffic service. Mitch is great but Simone is still the old tired know it all!

Marky dissed all the older callers on his Sat Nite show, week after week. Someone needs to ask him how much KIWI has in his hair.

Mark Simone is amongst the best broadcasters on the air in NYC. He's funny; he's almost always correct in his opinions on the news of the day, and he keeps things in perspective when the world seems to be going crazy around us. His knowledge of music and TV trivia is very entertaining, and I'm pleased that he's come on board at WOR. Soon enough, his time slot will expand or change to something more significant. If WOR would do the right thing and ditch Joan Hamburg, as well as selling Sunday morning air time to phony miracle drug firms advertising their products for hours on end, they'd be that much better off. Best wishes to you, Mark!

Thanks Mark for that unsolicited recommendation.. Even Laura Smith on WABC is better than your condescending I'm always right broadcast . Great hire by WOR.... Hope you all enjoy .

I don't think you are alone! That's why he was the perfect fill in host at WABC. Good enough to do the show but never in any one place long enough to turn off listeners! His time is past!

WOR is now running multiple Mark Simone repeats (although often the same show multiple times) on the weekends.

Why? Probably as filler until they can book more brokered time.

Why Simone? Probably to promote the show.

But why not repeat the WOR-exclusive hours of John & Ken, at least during some of those slots? New Yorkers already know Simone but should get to know J&K.

stupid programming....a dumb GM and equally inept PD. Really good hires CC! Borneman and Cutty....the blind leading the blind!!

I met Mark years ago, he was very nice, Mitch I know a long time, Great guy!!! I wish them the Best!!! :)
