Mark Waters out!

CBS gave him more time than he deserved. Quit or be fired. His choice.

I'm not a radio insider so am not privy to the inner workings of C(BS) Radio. But can anyone explain what the firings of these two guys means?

I would think on the surface it is in response to the decline in the fortunes of KOOL and/or KMLE specifically but when I questioned the board about KOOL going VT some months back the response was that it was a command from corporate. If that is true why fire the local guys?

Having said all that it occurs to me that for the past (almost) two years KOOL has been in freefall. First they fire their heart and soul DJ's then go all-Christmas-all-the-time and now shuffle their playlists in and out of their brand era.

Don't get me wrong - I think the station can return to its former glory. But what, if anything, did these two have to go with the recent disaster?

Guys I'm curious about Mark Waters. While I'm well aware there are probably several guys named Mark Waters, just a little curious where this Mark Waters worked before CBS-Phoenix

Any chance this guy worked at WCXT FM in West Michigan?

Or I'm thinking of someone completely different.

Thank you.
