Market change coming

To quote Dave Mustaine in the classic "Peace Sells" Megadeth "If there's a new way/I'll be the first in line/But it had better work this time....."

And the big NEWS is...very soon, a Seattle AM station will be also heard on FM. Now speculators - let's hear your guesses.

Could KIXI be replacing KQMV?

Could KOMO be replacing KPLZ?

Could KPTK be replacing KJAQ?

Could KJR-AM be replacing KJR-FM?

Could KKDZ be replacing KNDD?

....and the mystery deepens.....

Well, the opening post mentions Paul Harvey, who was heard on KOMO. If it is KOMO, that is huge. Head to head with KIRO on the FM, and a heritage music station going bye-bye. Wowsie!

HINT: May not be an FM they already own.

Never thought of that LBB. But with Fisher's financials, is it likely they will buy something new?

My money is on KJR-AM simulcasting on 104.5, and known as "SportsRadio 950/104.5".

Now what would be sweet is if KJR-FM 95.7 changes call letters slightly and the new FM on 104.5 is "SportsRadio KJR AM/FM".
Now THAT sounds like a powerhouse combo, reaches a broad male demo 18-49, and forces KRKO and KIRO to scramble. In fact, in my opinion, Bonneville will soon regret their boneheaded move not to put their Sports Channel on FM. :-\

Clear Channel just finished another round of layoffs and I don’t see them purchasing anything right now let alone another Station!

KOMO might be smart to move over to 101.5 as KPLZ's ratings aren’t anything special.
They've been trying to beat out WARM for years, and it'll never happen. That Station's way too cluttered.
Then the question turns into, "What to do with AM 1000??" Full simulcast of talk? Bongwater will most certainly say "ROCK!" lol
Sports is saturated, Talk is saturated, Fisher could sell to Disney and KKDZ could get a nice little upgrade. They already are affiliated with ABC for Television.

And that FM is "in the neighborhood" of the station "Where Seattle Stays In Touch"...

DAMN RIGHT I WILL!!!! We NEED as much LIFE on Puget Sound AM radio as we can get!! There's gotta be more than just KGRG-AM and KWLE.......

Not necessarily true. Could have been the storm before the calm...
