Market Leaders

New to the area and have been monitoring several of the stations in the State College market. Also, it has taken sometime but am somewhat caught up with the posts here.
1. Many positive posts about stations that are not significant players in this market.
2. Many negative posts against the dominate leaders in this market.

Define what makes one a "significant player"? Are we talking ratings...sales or a combination of both? Also, how does one know who "will be" a player in the next book. The landscape of the market has once again changed. Lite went back to music in the morning, Hot 103 was killed off, G101 had honed their approach (while being one of the few who have maintained their format this book). Froggy is on 98 in State College now, Qwk moved up the dial, B94.5 came to town, 3-WZ monkied with the Best mix to make a better than best mix...and Joe moved into Happy Valley too (and thats just what I can remember)

The whole market is in flux (again). How can you determine who WILL WIN unless you have a crystal ball? And if you do...wanna give me the heads-up on tonight's Powerball please? I work in radio...I could use a big payday!

Are you no longer working in radio or is there something else? You and others on this board seem bitter.

Heard your show in the past several days. Station signal has serious problems. (processing is REALLY bad) You should go to sales.
AJ might consider mascot duties.

Funny...and you are indeed entitled to your opinion. Granted, I am not in this as a career anymore and the numbers do not mean to me anymore what they once did, as I matured and realized it does not matter in a market this small...the numbers do not necessarily make or break you. But truth be told if you go back a few years and blow the dust off of some old books, I pulled down some numbers in this town that many people wished they had. I don't need anyone on this board to tell me how good or bad they think I am....I already have a good firm grasp of who I think I am as a person and I have already proved to myself and this market that I can be successful (even if we are only using ratings to guage success".

And yes...processing is a little "off" at the moment...we are well aware and corrective measures are already in place. Some of us "little guys" don't have the luxury of 3 or 4 engineers at our disposal and a stockpile of parts from all the stations we ripped to shreds while bulldozing over the whole marketplace. Nope...some of us have to call engineers in and actually ORDER PARTS! Imagine that!

Pilots a tool, end of story. talk about bitter, talk about mean posts. What station fired you? BTW I listened to the station inquestion no problem to the river in Harrisburg and then some..

RB, how many times do I have to explain it to you? Only a female can spew that kind of venom. It's not a guy who got fired, it's a chick who's trying to bait you and she's winning.
