Market Rumor

Am station KSAZ we all know has been sold, but a former boss of mine was in Tucson this week when I ran into him. He asked alot of questions about the market. He was the former VP for KFYI and Power 92 in Phoenix. He spent 14 years at those stations and really built them up. He also built up another news/talk and they sold it within one year of him turning it on. He didn't say what he was doing very vague. But he was buyiung a house here in town??????????????

You must be talking about Walter or the other owner which escapes my memory. They were in the beer business together up north. They owned Power 92 throughout the 80's early 90's. I worked there in '89

I want you out of the building now. I'm calling Walter right now.

Do you have a source or link confirming this?

If true, this is the worst news to ever hit Tucson radio, as it will
probably be the end of the line for Dancin' Danny Babich and his
disco polka-fest on the Giant 580. ;)

Probably too late now to even bother, but (aside from the chronic
dead air during the show) will someone tell him to stop opening his
yap in the middle of a song? That's basic Radio 101.

It's neither Fred or Walter it is the guy who was GSM and then made VP and ran the stations from 1996 till they were sold in 1999 for Fred and Walter. He made them ALOT of money.
