Boston . Kiss 108 sound Like there sister station Jamn 94.5
I agree with rapking on Kiss 108, except it's in direct reverse (has to be to protect gangsta rap Jam'n 94-5). In short, I consider Kiss to be a rock 40 post-Sunny Joe White. Just a sample of the artists they play:
Advil Latrine - rock
Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" - rock, especially given that both 'BCN and 'AAF play the song
Gwen Stefani/No Doubt - rock
Nickelback - rock
Hinder - heavy metal, aka the un-PC moniker of active rock
3 Doors Down - rock
Creed - rock
Dave Matthews - rock
Hoobastank - rock
All-American Rejects - rock
The Killers - alt-rock
Fall Out Boy - alt-rock
Blink-182 - rock
Sublime - rock (they've always played Sublime way more than your average CHR dating back to '96)
Third Eye Blind - rock
Green Day - rock
Rob Thomas/Matchbox 20 - rock
The Fray - rock (always on 'BCN and 'FNX)
Barenaked Ladies - rock
Red Hot Chili Peppers - rock
U2 - rock
I don't think I got every rock artist that Kiss plays, but this represents at least 75% of Kiss' music since John Ivey (who has a history of running rock 40 stations; he's now at KIIS, which runs the same exact format as LA's Star - a huge reason why Star's ratings are so bad) took over from 1994 to 2002. Cadillac has the keep the rap music on Jam'n completely separated from the rock on Kiss otherwise both stations will suffer because people won't be able to tell Kiss apart from Jam'n.

That is NOT 75% of their playlist, look it up on Mediabase, nor are all of those artists considered Rock. The one common thread with all the artists you mentioned is that they have all had HITS. That what KISS 108 plays, HITS. They are very well balanced. They play rhythmic, rock, pop HITS. Just because they play Hinder doesn't make them a Rock station. Just because they play Akon doesn't make them a Rhythmic. They play Carrie Underwood too, are you going to say they are a country station now????
Get over what Ivey did in the 90's and early 2000's with the station. He ran a station that you obviously didn't like, but he protected the brand and the station thrived (and continues to). The station has evolved, the format has evolved and the station is still successful, as well as JAM'N. And what do you mean KIIS and KYSR run the same format? KIIS is a heavy Rhythmic leaning CHR and KYSR is a Hot AC?
Also, if you can prove that WAAF or WBCN ever played Since U Been Gone in rotation (not as a tie in to a bit), I will shave my head and post the video on this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
