Markets with most deleted AM’s

That's OK vchimpanzee, Hallmark movies (especially Christmas ones) anything goes especially when they substitute every American city with either Langley, Maple Ridge, or Abbottsville, B.C. Canada
This move was set in Del Vista but the credits said they used the Santa Clarita post office.

Santa Clarita is a very popular shooting location, especially when the want authentic L.A. locales (I believe it's actually city proper, part of the city of L.A.)

There were two AM radio stations where the call letters were the same name as the town they were in, anybody?
The old WACO 1460 was a longtime Central Texas Top 40 fixture, but was moved out of the Waco market to DFW many years ago. However WACO-FM still going with its longtime Country format.

Santa Clarita is not part of the City of Los Ángeles. It is a separate city which is the 17th largest in CA and 3rd largest in LA County.

It is a very middle and upper middle class area only recently has been highly developed and is not by any means typical of the city of LA. I think you are confusing it with some other neighborhood.

Here is an expandable map of the cities in LA county:

That is one of the better L.A. maps I've seen in a while, thanks. I thought Santa Clarita was in the northern Valley section of L.A. city, so far from downtown.

In the new "A Christmas Story Christmas", Bulgaria was substituted for Hohman, Indiana, which also stood in for Hammond, Indiana.

Two stations whose calls include the whole town name: KELY in Ely, Nevada and WELY in Ely, Minnesota. Both are still in business.

All save for WVBS were at least 1kW daytime. WVBS was 880 watts. WCEC was daytime only and turned their license in after selling their FM sister--now WRDU 100.7 in Wake Forest, (Raleigh-Durham) NC. WMBL was 14 watts at night, and was bought by iHeart --then Clear Channel--in 2000 just to be silenced to expand the power of AM 730 in Charleston, SC. WTRQ had 10,000 watts daytime, but I don't know about their nighttime facilities, if any. WGTM was 5kW full time, a beast of a signal at that low dial position.
I had a friend who worked at WVOT when it was a decent sounding top 40 station around 1977.
