WSST is purchased from a company Sunbelt South.
Marquee Broadcasting is beefing up its station portfolio with the purchase of WSST Albany, Ga. (DMA 154) from Sunbelt-South Telecommunications.
WSST is an independent station licensed to Cordele, Ga. Although part of the Albany market, WSST serves south central Georgia and is the only full-power television station located centrally between Macon, Columbus and Albany. The price was not announced.
Marquee President Patricia Lane said: "Localism matters to our stations. We were attracted to WSST because the station has a long history of being a beacon of hyper-local content in south central Georgia. We are excited to build upon that legacy."
Marquee and its affiliates own full-power stations in Atlanta; Denver; Salisbury Md.; and Bowling Green, Ky., as well as LPTV stations in Philadelphia; Toledo, Ohio; Salisbury; and Parkersburg, W.Va., markets.
Greg Guy of Patrick Communications was the exclusive broker representing the seller.
