Married w/ Children Reruns Now On A THIRD Network... TV LAND!

I was doing a search on Zap2It.com for a certain episode, when to my surprise, it appears TV LAND will be doing a mini-marathon of M w/C on Thursday, April 23 from 9 PM-12 Mid. Spike TV and TBS are both frequently airing reruns of the show as well.

Nothing else to say, but WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA BUNDY! ;D

This doesn't count all of the local stations which also show M w/ C on a daily basis! Add 'em all up and you are offered the same show several times a day.

Once again, TVLand goes out of its way to answer a question that absolutely no one asked! ::)

It's a one time thing. They're borrowing it from their sister network for a one time special, just like when they borrowed CSI from SPIKE. BET has also borrowed FRESH PRINCE from their sister station NICK-at-Nite/The N.

Is Spike TV a sister network of TV Land? Because I know they are not borrowing it from TBS.

Yes. Spike TV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV, TVLAND, BET, CMT, VH-1, Noggin, The N, and all the off-springs of MTV, VH-1, CMT, and BET are all co-owned.

BET now airs Family Matters which can be seen also on Nick at Nite and ABC Family. Also doesn't BET air Fresh Prince, not sure?

Also Extreme House Makeover airs on CMT which airs on TV Land too.

And just to add about TV Land. Why don't they just move those realty shows to VH-1. Thats where they belong with the rest of them.

It all depends on the syndication contracts. Alot are now split deals.

Married is on TBS (Time Warner) and Spike TV (Viacom), but TBS's contract says they can only air it between 1AM and 7AM. So they air it 6AM-7AM. Spike has the daytime rights and can air it anytime 7AM-1AM. Plus they can share it with their sister stations if they want.

Golden Girls is on Hallmark and WE. No stipulations on when the show can air. Tho it's now on at 6PM on both stations.

Fresh Prince is on ABC Family (Disney) and Nick-at-Nite (Viacom) (along with the sister stations. Both stations can only air the show between certain hours. Plus some local stations (including TXX-TV in Hartford) carry the show.

Family Matters is only on Nick-at-Nite now (occasioanlly borrowed by BET). ABC Family lost the rights to the show.

That 70s show takes the cake. They're on 4 stations ABC Family, FX, The N, and local stations. Each station can only air the show during certain time periods.

Is there a split deal like this on MASH as well? It is always on Hallmark and ION in the afternoon, and TV Land in prime time, late night, or weekends.

"MASH" also airs in syndication on some local stations -- in Los Angeles, it's on KDOC, here in DFW, on KFWD. So in some areas, "MASH" can show up on four different channels.

I've seen Married With Children at 1:30 AM on Thursday and Friday nights on Spike so that can't be correct. In fact, it was on at 1:30 AM this past Friday Night (Saturday morning) on Spike.

Married With Children airs many days from 5-7 AM on TBS.

they sure have come a long way from the Donna Reed marathons.....

Married With Children reruns on CW Plus, too

Does CW Plus count as a network? I noticed that back-to-back episodes of the classic Fox sitcom were on latenights--I think it replaced Will and Grace....

This is ONE NIGHT ONLY. MWC is not being added to TV Land. Read about it in the last paragraph here: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2009/03/tv-one-adds-south-central-removes-mama.html

So it's done "in anticipation of the cast reunion during the 2009 TV Land Awards on Sunday, April 26." That should be interesting. What bores me, though, is that nowadays, cable networks like TV Land and Bravo are inventing these "awards" shows, but that's another topic for another thread...

Well, in looking ahead once again to upcoming episodes on Zap2It, what show is once again scheduled to run in a three-hour block not just this Thursday, but next Thursday... you guessed it, "Married with Children!"

Don't tell me they're airing two new awards shows over the following Sundays...

Funny you say that.....last year's TV Land Awards the previous winner was "Roseanne". Now it will be on TV Land in June. So don't be surprised if M...WC comes over to TV Land soon. Hell, "The Nanny" premieres tonight (5/17) on Nick at Nite.....

TVLand decided to premire Roseanne early. It debuted on Wednesday the 13th before The Cougar and they ran a marathon all night Friday instead of the TVLand Movie. Roseanne is no longer on Nick-at-Nite.

The Nanny premired last Sunday on Nick-at-Nite with an all night marathon. Now it airs 11PM-12AM and repeats 4AM-5AM during the week and 5AM-6AM on the Weekend.

I wonder if it'll still air on sister (or shall I say, brother) station Spike TV...
