Martha Stewart and MSLO Programming to Hallmark Channel in September

Starting this September Martha Stewart will be leaving local stations and will be airing exclusively on The Hallmark Channel. In addition to her show, which will air 10AM-11AM Eastern, Stewart's production company MSLO will be producing programming to air 11AM-1230PM and specials during primetime.

It was inevitable; a lot of stations were planning on dropping the show after this season.

With Oprah's new cable network debuting next year, do you think this move is the first step toward The Hallmark Channel rebranding as Martha TV?

No I think it's a stupid move. I think The Martha Stewart Show along with whatever else her company is producing for Hallmark channel would be a perfect fit for Oprah's network.

When she made her come back after her stint in jail her show was on WVIT in Hartford the NBC O&O. In the Fall of 2008 she moved to Tribune's FOX 61 WTIC-TV. I remember Tribune saying they were looking forward to airing Martha for many years to come. So many years ends up being too. And in September 09 they slid her over to Tribune's "TXX" the CW affiliate, formerly known as CW 20, which becomes The CT on WTXX on February 1st.

Come on, say it: it's a stupid move because it takes airtime away from reruns of your "Golden Girls".
