Martin Bashir Bolts ABC For MSNBC

And now Bill Weir gets to set his clock for the other end of the day (somewhat at least). Wonder who will get the GMA Weekend slot.

Isn't "bolts" a bit harsh? Undoubtedly his decision was made after carefully analyzing his current situation and that of his new job - just as most of us would do.

Personally, after viewing ABC's evening news the past few weeks I am not surprised that anyone associated with that department would consider leaving. Two evenings ago Sawyer spent half the newscast on an interview with the founder of Facebook. Nothing but a promo for a full-length piece on ABC's website. With that amount of fluff and puff it doesn't leave much time for a real journalist to practice his/her profession.

And I consider NBC's Nightly News just as shoddy. Dunno about C(BS)....haven't bothered to watch since the fair-haired girl took over the anchor desk.

I actually thought "Bashir Bolts..." kinda made the thread title flow. And apparently, I'm not the only one who agrees: Both the New York Post and Multichannel News reported the Bashir/MSNBC story using the word "bolts" in their headlines.

And one other thing: NBC has "The Today Show" and "The Tonight Show"; CBS has "The Early Show" and "The Late Show." So why hasn't ABC called their morning show "Morningline"? ???

I'm sure he considered it carefully. landtuna, Diane went with that story this past week because she just joined the network (fairly late) and they just hit 500 million users-- that's newsworthy, IMO.

It's "Brashear" C'mon people - check your spelling.

No it isn't, it's Bashir. Check yours.

You're...um...er...right, and I was wrong. I thought it was "Brashear," and found a number of citations for "Martin Brashear" on-line.

But then I found this YouTube clip of his story on Kwame Kilpatrick. The bug at the bottom of the screen confirms that your spelling is correct.

Of course, ABC could be wrong. Yeah....that's it...I'm right and you're wrong, and ABC is wrong too...
