Martin on MTV2 and Networks Purpose

It seems werid for MTV2 to be airing Martin in the morning I noticed. And also has a music mix in the morning just like MTV does but called AMTV2. In my opinion I don't see a purpose for two MTV's unless one was going to be a classic or old school MTV.

Also VH-1 is airing past seasons of Jeresy Shore which is MTV's popular show.

I saw a banner ad for "Martin In The Morning" on MTV2 on some website the other day. Wasn't that show on BET or Centric? I guess they didn't renew their contract...

It's only a matter of time before we will find - perish the thought - "Jersey Shore" on VH1 Classic! :-X

Martin airs on TV One and its been airing on there since 2004. Martin is one of the cable channels top shows so they are still airing it during the evenings. MTV I guess has the daytime rights. Martin never aired on BET or Centric. Martin first cable home was USA right along with Living Single back in 2000.

So "Martin" is another one of these sitcoms with shared access on more than one cable channel, much like "Married With Children" on TBS and TV Land.

It's bad enough we pay high costs for cable, but I guess it's true that the same stuff on the air.

I guess they are sharing the daytime rights. TV One airs the same episodes that aired on FOX. Not the syndicated verison from the 1st cycle from fall 1996. Some scenes are edited or cut. Same thing with Living Single. Tv One airs it weeknights Oxygen airs the show in morning or in a daily weekly marathon

Well MTV2 started as the place for music. Back when MTV first started playing les and less music they launched the network as M2. After a while the music went away on MTV2 aswell.

It is my understanding that the difference is with MTV going in the direction of appealing towards teen girls more, MTV2 was set up to appeal towards teen males more. Kinda like Disney channel & Disney xd

All the music is on MTV Hits MTV U and MTV Jams. I think MTV2 use to be the Box back in the 90's. Since MTV 1 is full of crap now they are trying to do the same with MTV 2. Do we really need all these networks?

Trying to do the same with MTV 2? They've done near succeeded! "Martin In The Morning"? My goodness...

By the way, MTV 2 actually took over the signal of The Box after it went belly up - either that or The Box was acquired, one or the other... But both of them existed on their own up until that point.
