Martin Wyatt retiring

It was announced today that Martin Wyatt (ABC 7 Sports) is retiring. I know he's been working for KGO-TV since 1980, but I had no idea he was 65! Wyatt's a very good sports anchor, I think, and I admired the fact that he was always a straight-forward reporter, and did his job without the loud delivery, clever catch-phrases, and personality gimmicks that so many local sportscasters resort to.

Will Radnich replace him? That would reunite Pete Wilson with Gary AGAIN!!! First time in Sacramento at KTXL TV 40 (Before FOX was around) Then at KRON 4 when it was an NBC affiliate. Maybe third time is a charm!!!!

No way Radnich replaces him. Radnich gets so much time on KRON that no other news station in the country would let him have (and I may be prone to hyperbole).

As for Wyatt, he didn't look 65 whatsoever.

Did anyone catch what the other stations did? I saw DOD on Ch.5 and there was no mention.

I agree, he does notlook close to 65. As for the others stations. They probably can't say anything on the air since sweeps have started and viewers could possibly flip to ABC7.

I saw his announcement on their web site. At the end they stated that Larry Biel (sp?) moves to the 6 and 11 sports slot

Either Biel or Mike Schuman. Biel will probably be the choice, though I'd prefer Schuman, who is a good straight forward reporter - not unlike Martin Wyatt.
