All Bette and Barbrea all the time? LOL
I figure their target audience is those who listen to NPR and WWOZ . Upscale listeners who probably go to Jazz fest and make high 5 - 6 figures ...but with the signal it puts on in New Orleans in some areas, they better hope the northshore can support it.
Also smashed, a format very much like this one is in St. Louis as Red at 104.1. (which I found out is now moved to weekends only on a talk station in St. Louis at 97.1)
I say good niche format that is gonna way of the Diva however unless upscale businesses get behind it hard and the Martini image is promoted to the upscale tastes... No beer and dog imaging here...
In fact here is a report done on Red at 104 and the comments Edison Media Research made on bringing back the standards to radio

My big thing with John Mcqueen is his habit of coming up with image killing names for his "boutique" projects... Diva to me is a woman who is a queen or a b****, I'm sorry but that's the word association the national media has done to the word..... Martini is a cute name but how long will it be cute, before it becomes a hinderance (Like Red in St. Louis is more neutral IMO)... I haven't heard the promos and all yet but if it's as stock as Diva.. the cute factors gone in a flash..sorry...
Just my 1 cent on this
