You guys sound like dinousars. Buble' Bobby Darin, Sinatra, Diana Krall, and others
are today's standards.

Sinatra has been the quintessential "pop standards" artist. He's the Chairman of the friggin BOARD! The others are definitely carrying the torch. It doesn't mean you have to ignore the ones who came before you.

Standards is timeless music -- it doesn't sound dated.

I remember WJIB on 96.9 FM when I was a small child. I used to it every night when I want to bed. I had an old Westinghouse radio with tubes in it and my parents would come into my room and turn it off at night. When we moved to the Philly area, you had WISH 106 and EZ 101, same formats as WJIB. Does the new WJIB on AM ring the bell of the USS Constitution at the top of the hour like the old WJIB?

Bill,
Unfortunately not. That bell buoy-and-seagulls interval signal is still owned by GE, who owned 96.9 FM at the time. Would be nice to hear WJIB-740, but don't count on it any time soon....

We used the Bouy/Waves/Gulls sounder on the hour ID at WFPG-FM for years and years.

"Relaxing Music Radio...FM-97...WFPG-FM Atlantic City" was dropped with the Bonneville Beautiful Music format and replaced with Lite 96-9.
