MARTZ EXITING DETROIT

This was a long time coming with the signal issues on 104.7 and the added costs of finding new frequencies. All the while being off the air and taking losses every day. You can't bill if there's no signal. They don't have such problems in Pittsburgh. They don't have much of a signal either but it is cheap to run.

Even if 100.1 was pulled or ordered restricted (and that would presume a complaint from Renda, at 99.7, or the Morgantown station that is at 100.1), Martz still has AM 660, which puts out a pretty good signal dawn-to-dusk, and its online stream. Also, it sounds like "WAMO 100" already has made some impact as an urban station, which would have to involve a combination of things including some concern for its market.

lord knows exiting Detroit was one of the best decisions I ever made...
