Marvelous

Probably the best Oldies expert in Tampa Bay. He was great on the old WHBO. It would be nice to recreate that station.

::) Oh God , Give me a break! How much did this article cost..WHBQ was never better than when Southern Broadcasting owned them!

'I was unemployed and alone back then,' Marvin says. 'But I got centered. I prayed to stop drinking. I prayed the weight off. I learned about nutrition and exercise, and now I work out at 7:30 every morning.

Ya any kin..to "Billy Sol Hargus? ???

With all due respect to the Big Ape's right to express his opinions, I'm not sure what WHBQ has to do with the article. I wasn't even aware that Marvin had worked in Memphis.

I don't know if the Ape has had the pleasure of actually working with Marvin, but as someone who is lucky enough to do so from time to time I have to say that I don't just respect him for the work he does on the air, but for the genuinely nice guy he is when the microphone is off. He deserves the kudos.

Way to go, Marvin! Keep up the great work!

You're right..Wrong station...OFD (Old Fart's Disease)..My Apologies...Other stuff stands...APE

Nice to see he's soooo humble about his big, deep voice and his rare ability to be able to pick an appropriate song. Wow. Next stop: White House

Glad to see recognition to Scott Robbins for the "Marvelous" tag. Good article about a good and talented guy.

Hi, remember Marvelous when he did "Old Gold Retold" on Pasco 105 1/2 FM back in the early 80's.
