Marvin Zindler has just died.

Sad story coming from ABC-13: Zindler died after a long bout with pancreatic cancer. He was 85 years old. A true TV legend, Marvin has been a hero to everybody who happens to be in a dire need, and he ends his week with the usual restaurant report, which features of course, SLIME In The ICE MACHINE. Marvin has been a fixture at ABC-13 for the past 35 years. Viewers have grown on Marvin, Dave, Bob and Ed, and houston has lost one of its own. Condolences goes out to his wife, His Children, and grandchidren. Rest in peace. 1923-2007. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarvin Zindlerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, EYE-wittness NEWS. Thank You, Marvin.

Sure, of course, sympathy AND sensitivity. One of the best at what he did. His reputation transcended the Houston market, and not just because of "The Best Little Whorehouse" connection. Marvin shook up the stodginess and formality of TV newscasts like no other. Despite all the attention-getting, almost cartoonish style (toupee, cigar, rose-colored glasses AND the wild voice fluctuations,) he did a LOT to help folks out. He just kinda grew on you over time. Marvin will be sorely missed.

Hey, what's wrong with you people???? Don't you have sensitivity and sympathy for Marvin? He's dead!!!

I am sure a lot of people will have something to say when they return to their desk this Monday morning. I use to watch him when I attended Sam Houston State many years ago and lots of people went around imitating him. Anytime I was in Houston I made a point of looking for him on the air.

Marvin was truly an original, someone who liked to showboat in his earlier TV days, but later on gave to help the public when it came to two of our most vulnerable classes, old folks and children.

He was like a hero to everyone one out there who has been fallen through the cracks of society and through all of the red tape and they're just tired of playing games. Marvin has stood up and went to bat. God has prepared a special place for Marvin out there in heaven. Anyway a lot of people out there have realized the sad news once they've come back to work and the daily grind when they heard all about Marvin. KTRK spent the entire night reflecting on Marvin as anchor Dave Ward broke the news during a rerun of "Desperate Housewives". Marvin died last night over at MD Anderson.

Good Golf, Good Tennis, or WHATEVER makes you happy.

Marvin: MMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARVIN ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZINDLERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....
EYE-Wittnesss NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave Ward: Thank You, Marvin.
