MARY BETH McDADE KTLA

Is she gone from KTLA ? She is not on the web site. I can't watch KTLA as Time Warner in Palm Springs no longer carries it.

She was apparently a victim of a numbers situation. I'm confident that she'll turn up again somewhere. I mean, if Lisa Joyner can turn up again somewhere, then certainly Mary Beth can resurface. It's just a matter of time.

Where did Lisa Joyner return to? I thought once she married into Two and Half Men money her cub reports of the showbiz beat were over.

Mary Beth should have never left KCBS/KCAL if she had a choice on that matter.

Lisa Joyner found gainful employment with the TV Guide Channel.

(Insert punchline here) :)

Mary Beth McDade is still on KTLA. She was on just a couple days ago when KTLA first used their new set.

Say, is it just me or does Mary Beth have a speech impediment? Just asking. Now Cher Calvin is a class act--great reporter and anchor.

Looks like these two are KTLA's choice for weekend anchoring. I can handle Cher, she's pretty natural, but Mary Beth McDade is the quintessential stereotype of a female news reader. Platinum bottle blond and a forced sounding voice & delivery. Plus she has this problem blinking. It was more apparent on her field reports, but it drives me crazy. But yeah, her delivery is a bit forced. Perhaps she's trying to hide an accent, don't know. She could be a whole lot better, but is there anyone who could coach her at KTLA? She's there because she looks good, but I'd like to see her with her natural hair color.

...along with a more natural delivery style. Hadn't noticed her blinking but it could be nerves, dry contacts, habit, lack of confidence or a combination of all four. It's her forced voice I'm more attuned to. I get the feeling that the days of coaching and mentoring at TV station news departments is just about gone--a victim of the economy (and as we know, KTLA put most of their seasoned reporters out to pasture).

But I agree Mary Beth needs to tone herself down. This isn't the 'Channel 5 Babe-ilicious News at 10". I think she would do herself (and the viewers) a favor and by relaxing and striving to be more natural in her appearance and delivery.
