Some female reporters, while trying to appear detached from the event and professional can come across as robotic or as ice queens.

A few weeks ago when that tractor-trailer barreled down some thoroughfare in Studio City hitting an SUV and killing its occupants, Leyna Nguyen was assigned to do a live report from the scene. It was obvious from her face and manner of speaking that Leyna was shaken by the tragedy but she still managed to turn in a clear, complete report of the incident.

My opinion of Leyna rose considerably after that.

Is Mary Beth still blinking every few words? She actually used to shut her eyes when field reporting. She really forces her voice too. Beautilful woman, but she needs some help if she's ever to rise to another level...
