Mary & Holden out at WCCC

Mary and Holden, 2/3 of the WCCC morning show, have been let go due to more budget cuts. This happens less than a year after former morning show host Sebastian was let go because of budget cuts. It appears that WCCC cannot afford to keep anyone with the slightest bit of talent.

Can Picossi carry the show on his own?
Karolyi is probably the most talented there.
Are they jockless at night?

WCCC still rules
a few things I have noticed-
Comercials yes 5-10 minutes of them top and bottom of the hour. why doesn;t CCC try the Clear Channel or Cumulous approach of the 15 seconds, 5 second mentions to try to get rid the long add setts IMHO

Yet they had no problem keeping the syndicated Howard Stern in the fold for so many years...

I don't know. Maybe because they're live and local 24/7 and the only syndicated product they have is New England Patriots Football from September-January? Maybe they need to resort to Voice-Tracking and Syndicated fare. I guess it's a good thing they didn't end up with the winning bid for 104.1 FM. They had a bid on it, but Red Wolf outbid them. Is the format that bad that it can't attract advertisers? I can't say because I personally don't like the music. (I like Oldies, Classic Rock, Country, and Hip-Hop).

I'd imagine that, in this depressed market for radio advertising, ad agencies are buying multi-station package deals of the sort Clear Channel and CBS can offer. All the 'CCC people can offer in Hartford is 'CCC and flea-powered 1290.

Clear Channel doesn't offer any multi--station discounts. Someone I know asked them and was told each station was individual. But for an extra dollar each they'd insert the ad into the internet feed of the stations.
