Mary Walter leaving "Mornings on the Mall"

Mary just announced that today was her last day at WMAL. The staff is going back into the studio and she said that after working from home for a year she realized that the commute from NJ was just too much. Too bad. She and Vince have been a great team for the past 4 years.

Now it's being reported that Vince is moving to afternoons and Larry O'Connor back to mornings. Quite a shakeup.

Sadly, the once great "Mornings on the Mall" is turning into a show of silly stuff instead of news and politics. I assume this is to create broader appeal but I think it's a mistake.

My wife and I started listening to WMAL in the mornings about 5 years ago because our nation's capitol seems like the perfect place to hear news about current events and interviews with political leaders. Mary and Vince delivered just that, but the current show is losing its focus IMO.

Trying to be "all things to all people" often means being of little value to anyone.

After hearing the woman who was on the air with Larry O'Connor this morning I think that might be a very good idea!đź’ˇ Anyway I'm looking for a new morning show, maybe Brian Wilson who's now on WWTN.
