Mason in Charge of CBS Atlanta...

Once again I scoop Rodney Ho:

Sources tell me that CBS Radio President & CEO Dan Mason has eliminated three regional GM's and will take control of 57 stations in top ten markets including the Atlanta cluster.

I have already sent my resume to Mr. Mason. It won't be long now till I am in charge of 929 Radio Atlanta. Wheeler, take notice. Smith, Davis and Sullivan; you can buy property. Jones, Craig, Cellini and Domino; invites will be in the mail.

You might've scooped Rodney Ho, but you're still five days late. CBS publicly announced this last week. And you wasted your letter to Mason, Scott Herman is actually overseeing the Atlanta cluster. Dan Mason is overseeing Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

Dan did not take over Atlanta...

From CBSradio.com:

CBS RADIO today announced the restructuring of its senior management structure. Effective immediately, Dan Mason, President and CEO, will assume direct oversight of CBS RADIO’s stations located in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. All other CBS RADIO stations will be overseen by Scott Herman who takes on the role of Executive Vice President, Operations. Herman has most recently served as EVP, Eastern Region, CBS RADIO.

One has to wonder why Mason chose to oversee every Top 10 market except Atlanta.

Not done any research on it but I wonder if in all the other markets if CBS is not either 1 or 2 in the market.

The first I ever heard of Dan Mason was when he was doing nights in 1975 on the original Z93. He's come a long way from boogie checks to president of CBS Radio.
