here in North Texas, WFAA aired ABC News' coverage in which it interrupted the end of Sister Circle, and preempted Daily Blast Live and Inside Edition and then went straight into their 4 PM newscast after ABC News wrapped up their special report coverage of the tragic event.
meanwhile, KXAS NBC 5 aired NBC News' coverage and we all know NBC News had to preempt/interrupt their Olympics coverage (or possibly moved it to the NBC Sports app and the NBC Olympics site) to cover it, and then once NBC ended their coverage, they did go on to their regular 4 PM newscast
and CBS News had their special report interrupted The Doctors and preempt Dr. Phil on KTVT CBS 11. and when CBS News wrapped their coverage up, they went to their 4 PM newscast
and even KDFW interrupted their normal program too, as Fox News' coverage interrupted the Harry Connick Jr. show and preempted TMZ Live and parts of a episode of Judge Judy before going back to regular programing when Fox News wrapped their coverage (or in this case, simulcast with Fox News Channel, as it was basically FNC's coverage but with the generic Live replacing the bottom of the Fox News Channel logo in the logo bug on their graphics).
i don't know how the DFW radio stations that cover the news did it, i'm sure bet KRLD and WBAP and maybe KSKY and KLIF may had done coverage or just stuck to regular programming.
