JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS CLEAR CHANNEL LA HAS MASSIVE FIRINGS IT WAS IN THE WORDS OF A CLOSE FREIND AND NOW FORMER CLEAR CHANNEL EMPLOYEE "IT WAS LIKE THE SHEEP BEING LED TO SLAUGHTER IN BURBANK" ALOT OF FRESH UNEMPLOYED PERSONS LEFT THE BUILDING FRIDAY WITH BLANK STUNNED LOOKS ON THEIR FACES. 10 ON AIR PERSONALITIES WAS LET GO MOST NOTABLE KIM AMIDON (MARK & KIM SHOW KOST) MIKE NOLAN (MR KFI IN THE SKY) SEAN ANDRE (MID-DAY HOT 92.3) AND A BUNCH OF AIRWATCH TRAFFIC REPORTERS. ALSO HEARD THAT CC SAN DIEGO IS NEXT WITH A BULLSEYE ON ITS HEAD. I WONDER WHEN THE EXECUTIONER WILL MAKING HIS LAS VEGAS APPEARENCE?
 
Really sad news to hear about more firings.
Interesting because Clear Channel just cancelled their progressive talk station in San Diego, KLSD AM 1360. Stacy Taylor was the morning host, not sure where he will go.
 
It appears that Clear Channel Las Vegas has begun the cuts as well. From what I understand Mitch Kelly was let go this morning from KWNR. Could this be the beginning of many changes on the way? It was brought to my attention by someone that knows their consultant that Stunt Runt, and Bob Bishop could soon be the next to get the axe!
 
I've listened to the KWNR morning show since the Glenn Boy & Mitch days. My wife and I woke up this morning to hear Mark Stevens and the intern/trainee doing the show without Mitch Kelly. I thought this was unusual since Mark was not mentioning anything about Mitch being not in the studio. In checking the KWNR site this morning, I was surprised to find no mention of Mitch Kelly, just as if he was never there. CC management must have made some more changes I thought. In searching the Internet this morning I found this post and had to comment.

I have really enjoyed listening to the morning show through the years. My wife and I have really enjoyed listening to Mark and Mitch. I also enjoyed listening to Brooks O'Brian when she was part of the show. Mark and Mitch each have their own unique style, complment each other, and were good at making us laugh in the morning.

I have a really difficult time listening to the intern/trainnee in the mornings. I stuck with listening to the morning show even when Mitch and Mark seemed to devote too much time to educating her on how to live in Las Vegas (or VEGAS as the intern/trainnee calls it) and the air time devoted to the intern/trainee's parents splitting up (A Very Special Morning Show that was!) She has no radio talent, at least at this time. Her vocal delivery is poor. The topics she talks about appear to be of interest to her, and only her. Don't get me started on her laugh. In short, she lacks the maturity and talent requried of the position she was hired to fill.

I will listen to the KWNR in the mornings as long as the mic is taken away from the intern/trainee. If she stays, I guess I will find another station. Thanks CC, for screwing with a good thing!

Another change at CCLV is the elimination of afternoon traffic reporter Bob Bennett. Now the afternoon air personalities read their own traffic reports.
 
I totally agree with RadioByStander.

I also have a very difficult time listening to the intern/trainnee in the mornings. I've been listening to Mark and Mitch for over a year. I think they are a great team. I also continued to listen to Mark and Mitch when the Intern/Trainee started on the show. I have listened to the parent split up, the educating her about living in Las Vegas, etc., etc. Mark and Mitch were a great pair and had a great show and I felt that they really care about the Country Music listeners. Unlike the Intern. Sometimes when I am listening I wonder if she ever listened to Country Music before she was hired for the job. Some of the things she says seem like she hasn't a clue.

I could not believe there was no mention of what happened to Mitch. I thought he might have been out sick but then no mention of him. I went to the website and everything to do with Mitch was gone. I am very disappointed that Mitch is no longer on the morning show.

I will continue to listen to the Morning show a little longer but if the intern stays, no matter how much I like Mark, I will have to find another station to listen to because the intern drives me crazy.

I feel this should have been handled differently.

I am so upset about the firing of Mitch Kelly! I have listened since 1994 and I am a huge fan of his!! :mad: This radio station is going to lose so many listeners. What a shame...And I cannot stand Natalie either!!
How many more changes are on the way??? I hope Bob Bishop isn't next. He has been on since 1991! :eek:
I am DONE with 95.5. I will be listening to 104.3 The Coyote from now on!
 
Maybe they could get Imus instead of the guy with the LOUD shirt, and bring back O'really in the evening instead of the black heliocopter "I.T." guy...(insect terminator??) That would save some money.

KXNT, the station you are obsessed with, is owned by CBS not Clear Channel.
 
Mitch is a classy guy. As a fellow Milwaukeean, I really enjoyed talking to him about "home". You knew when they let Brooks go, he would follow. Now Bob better watch his back. I know that is business, but I am pissed.

It is a very sad thing that Mitch Kelly is gone from KWNR. I have listened to him also since the days he was with Glenn boy and Brooks O'brian. He and Mark Stevens were also great together. I for one have switched stations and I have been listening to KSON in San Diego on my computer. That is where John Marks formely from KWNR and now Brooks O'brian has joined him there.
