... In my dreams! If I had it my way, Indy Radio would look like this:

90.1 FM Public Radio
92.3 FM Classic Country
93.1 FM News/Talk
93.9 FM Oldies—Adult Standard
94.7 FM Classic Rock
95.5 FM Hit Country
96.3 FM CHR-Rythmic
97.1 FM AAA
98.3 FM Contemporary Christian
99.5 FM Hot AC
100.9 FM CHR-Pop
101.9 FM Smooth Jazz
103.3 FM Alternative—Their HD2 format should be on their HD1!
104.5 FM Children--Radio Disney
105.7 FM AC
106.7 FM Urban AC
107.1 FM CHR-Spanish
107.9 FM News/Talk Spanish

It’s pretty much based on who owns what--not necessarily current staffing or lack there of. Let’s get some variety in this market! Indy could set the example here… Merry Christmas!

P.S. I LOVE HD RADIO! Don't get me started on what we could do with that!

Good variety. The only changes I see that need to be made to your list would be 97.1 does a MUCH better job at country than 95.5 - you ever try to listen to that sappy FMS show on weekend nights? They play WAY too much OLD country - so I'd say 97.1 has proven they can format 'hits' country much better.

104.5 also does very good job as the 'other' classic rock station - and a town this size does need TWO! -- NOT a third one floundering out there wasting a frequency like it is now, good place for a smooth jazz station (or as CC likes to say - maybe they should try HIP HOP!)

Other than that - you've got a great variety there.

With radio in the shape it supposedly is, would it be a good time to take a risk and do something different?

Stations in Indy so so stale these days.

I've always had a thing for big band music. One of my first radio jobs was working at WTUX-AM in the "Music Of Your Life" format.

It opened my eyes to all kinds of awesome music that I enjoy to this day.

It's a pity that music isn't deserving of a format anymore.

Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's not hip.

It was an interesting place to work, that's for sure. I got my first exposure to the format when WATI moved to FM in Danville and sat there and watched the reels spin. Then once again when I did weekends at the 'TUX. I think they killed the format prematurely to go gospel (even John Emerson agrees with that), but I guess numbers are numbers and doubt that it would do very well in today's market.

That list looks OKAY,,, but put Diney RADIO ON am,,, AND PUT chr-dANCE ON 98.3.....
