Masters golf on WBBR

Driving home from work on Thursday, I put on 1130 expecting to hear (just for entertainment, since my commute is entirely in a rural area) traffic on the 5's and instead heard what sounded to me like the audio of ESPN's coverage of round 1 of the Masters in Augusta. And yesterday WBBR aired round 2. That's, shall I say unusual. How often are golf tourneys broadcast on radio nowadays? I always thought golf and tennis lent themselves better to TV than radio.

How many other stations are carrying PBP of the 2008 Masters?

Airing golf on radio sounds a bit odd. Granted, the Master's is special and Tiger adds to the excitement (I have even been watching some of it, which I raely have in the past) but it does not make for exciting radio.

That said, given the long commute so many New Yorker's have and the unlikelyhood of making it home from work in time to catch any of the action on TV, being able to hear it on the radio may be an attractive option for golf fans.

It will be interesting to check if they also carry Saturday and Sunday.
