No. Just no. It is not alternative. It's Reggae.

An artist shouldn't have to play power chord 4onthefloor sludge rock to be considered for airplay at this format. There isn't a single commercial alternative station in the US that is diverse enough. Playing this track is a small step in the right direction.

Yes and no. Not all artists on alternative radio do play distorted powerchords. Jack Johnson? or even better, The Gorillaz? I even remember hearing Eminem on Altertive stations. There is a reason for formats. If you dont like it, listen to something else. Matisyahu is clearly reggae. Heck one of the websites is hasidicreggae.com. Come on. There is nothing wrong with Reggae...I enjoy a fair amount of it too. This song is just not alternative. What's next, Sean Paul on Alternative radio?

A lot of alternative fans as well as alternative's target demo enjoy this type of thing. Probably why WKQX Chicago plays Bob Marley (as well as Matisyahu) on a regular basis.

Agreed. It's sort of like the Beatles...you may not dig them but you can appreciate their impact they had and what they introduced to the scene.

Listened to it. Listened again. Didn't add it.
