Hopefully this will end the "Matt's got to leave WPRO for his own good!" talk....from where I stand...he seems a lot smarter than those that have been posting for over a year telling him to high tail it out of town

Well I'll be collecting 10 percent of his salary. So I'm happy! lol

Seriously though .... WPRO probably started getting a bit nervous about the possibility of Matt leaving. So they threw him a bone. It makes sense. Now if Matt is smart he will build off this opportunity and collect airchecks for a year. Then he should start sending that tape out to stations all over the country so that he's not stuck in Providence his whole life.

This is great for him. Congratulations MATT!

What is wrong with Providence!?! Doug White, Walter Cryan, Giovanni, Salty, etc have made a good living in Providence. Just because Matt's path is one you wouldn't choose...LET HIM MAKE HIS OWN CHOICES AND LIVE HIS OWN LIFE!

It is unbelievable that those who post here and had a sniff or wish they did think they know what is best. WE have no idea what is on Matt's plate and he may very well be very content doing what he is doing and we should leave it as that. This has gone on for more than a year and now, even when he has great news, there are some that think they know what is best for him....GET OVER YOURSELVES!
 
LOL... I'm not forcing Matt out of town. I just think that his talent exceeds market number 38. Matt should take it as a compliment that I have such faith in his talents. I think most people suck!
 
Roland, Savage is LIVE from 6 to 9. WPRO is keeping the first hour of Savage on delay for Matt Allen!
An hour a day and 3 on the weekend. Sounds pretty, pretty, PRETTY NICE! Walter.

you took the word right outta my mouth....... mabe Matt was offred a talk gig at one point...... but didnt want to do it 3-4 hrs a day every day... cause its alot of work
 
WC, that is true, but a lot of East Coast stations run Savage 7-10, rather than 6-9 during the "live" hours. The first hour (3-4 PT) becomes the last hour (9-10 ET).

They should air Savage 6-9, and Matt Allen 3-6.
 
I like Matt but his angry white man routine is tedious after awhile. There is no way Matt would fly 5 days a week at 3 to 4 hours a day. He could not maintain ratings. Giving him an hour a day to rant is bizarre. Comes across as a doggy being thrown a bone.

Doggy being thrown a bone? hmmmm. That was the impression I got as well. I think the station is just trying to give him something to keep him happy. The normal thing for PRO to do would have been to start Savage at 6 PM. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. However the station knows that Matt is the go to guy to save their asses. If someone calls in sick.. MATT is there. When someone goes on Vacation... Matt is there. Matt is the one who ties all the loose ends at that place together. Whenever and wherever there is a void, they know Matt will come to the rescue. That is the real reason they keep him around. Giving him his own hour each day is just the stations way of making sure he doesn't go anywhere else.
 
I am convinced Matt has every relative logging on this site. Matt once and for all, GET AWAY from that nut case Dan York and get a job!! Dan York is NOT a good human being. GO get yourself a job, and tell your relatives to quit posting. Quit buying guns.
 
Sky I just don't see the big demand for Matt Allen that others claim exists with other stations. I guess I'm more amused than anything with this arrangement. It's bizarre giving him one hour a day.
A guy like Andy Gresh is a hot comodity and going places in radio. Matt Allen has no such mojo.

Joint you need to worry about your own life. Creepy how some are infatuated.

Brien never got over the crush she had on Allen! Could she be , or ever Ronzo, one of these posters?

I don't see Allen as 'Angry White man'. I see him as " Whistle Blower'. He's a Law and Order man..
Doesn't like being played with. I know PLENTY of Black men , who feel the same.
